Chamber Honors Its Director

JFK Airport Chamber of Commerce honors its Director, Phillip J. Jensen at the recent Networking event held on February 29th, 2012 at the Hilton Hotel – JFK.

Phil Jensen joined Cargo Airport Services in February 2005 in the capacity of Director of Sales and Marketing. Mr. Jensen’s scope of responsibilities include developing new business and ground handling contracts and lease agreements and serving as the liaison to the airport and industry community. Phil has over thirty five years of aviation experience in International and Domestic airline operations, ground handling and administration and holds a BS Degree in Business Management.

Phil started his career with Braniff International and later worked in the Regional Airline Industry where he utilized his varied airline background to help start two new airlines, Atlantic Express and Long Island Airlines. His career also included Customer Service Manager for Northwest Airlines at LaGuardia Airport and as NW General Manager JFK where he orchestrated the Northwest and KLM alliance integration. Phil also served as Director of Sales and Services with Evergreen Aviation Ground Logistics Enterprises for JFK. In 2005 he joined Cargo Airport Services USA as part of their new management team and plans for expansion in the air cargo business. Today CAS is the largest cargo handler at JFK Airport with more than seventy airline customers in their system.

During his career Phil has been involved in many industry and community services. He served on numerous airport committees and was the 1999 President of the Kennedy Airport Airline Management Council (KAAMCO). As the 2000 President of the JFK Chamber of Commerce Phil helped establish a Chamber scholarship at the College of Aeronautics (now Vaughn College). Phil’s memberships and activities include KAAMCO, Director and past president JFK Chamber of Commerce, Board Member Airport Council for Economic Opportunity, Board Member JFK Air Cargo Association, Board Member Christ for the World Chapel and member of the JFK Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association and the Aircraft owners and Pilots Association. Phil was recently honored as The JFK Airport Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year 2011.

Phil and his wife Susan, live on Long Island with their children Kaitlin and Dylan. Kaitlin received a Masters Degree from CW Post College where Dylan is now enrolled as a freshman. Phil’s grown daughter, Dana, is working on her doctorate thesis at the University of Dallas.
